Cargill beat- River Tay 34lb hen on lower Cargill
Cargill beat- River Tay It was a great last day of the 2010 season as the Tays biggest fish of the year was landed on Lower Cargill. It is also the biggest fish of the beat for years and caps a very good season. I was hooked by myself and landed by Alistair Sheach in the Cobble croy. It was hooked on a flying c and was safely returned after a few photos. Apologies for the quality of the the photos as we rushed to get the fish back into the water. Another 3 fish were also landed today including 1 on the fly.

Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland 18 salmon landed on upper Cargill today
Cargill beat- River Tay 18 salmon landed including a 20lb hen and a sea liced 24lb cock fish on upper Cargill today. Another excellent days fishing with most of the fish fresh or sea liced. Most fish fell to harl today. The river level continues to settle and clear which will hopefully provide some more big catches running up the the seasons end next Friday.

Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland 21 salmon on upper Cargill
Cargill beat- River Tay. An outstanding days sport on upper Cargill yesterday with 21 salmon landed. These included a sea liced fish at 18lb and two big hens at 17lb which were all retruned. In the morning as the water was still coloured we struggled to land just 4 fish but as the river quickily dropped and cleared spinning flying c's took an amazing 17 fish in 3 hours in the afternoon. As many were also hooked and lost. This was truly a day to remember on Cargill. In the last 3 days we have landed an amazing 44 fish and the beat is currently full of salmon. As an added note of interest we have also had 4 brownies over 5lb this week.
