The fish was played for 25 minutes before being safely landed and returned by Ghillie Ali Scott. A few dates still left for October fishing see availability page on our web site.

A nice fish I got today from Clocksden on the upper Cargill. The water is getting very low now and is exceptionally clear. There are fish lying in every pool.
These are the 2 fish hooked on the harled fly. They were both landed by Sanjay Chataroo. One weighed 12lb and the other 8lb. 2 other fish were also hooked and lost
A nice fish landed by Tam in the bridge stream on Friday. It was hooked harling. There are fish lying in most of the pools with fresh fish running through every day
This is a pic of the 20lb fish landed by Jim Davidson in the cradle on the fly. This was Jims first fly caught salmon. Not a bad way to start. The fish was covered in sea lice.
Keith Schofield landed a cracking 15lb springer today hooked fly fishing from the boat in the garden pool. The long tailed sea licer was in excellent condition and in 1 run during the fight cleared over 80 yards. Screaming reel !!
This is Andrew Schofield playing a fish in the tail of the maggot today. He landed this kelt but unfortunatley he also lost 2 springers in the afternoon. Another one was lost later on.
This is a pic of a springer i got a couple of weeks ago before sending my camera tumbling to the depths of the Tay. Recovered my camera today after 10 days and a spate and it amazingly is still working. It is supposed to be waterproof but that is impressive. The fish was hooked on a monkey in the garden pool and weighed in at 8lb.
Was lucky enough to land a nice spring salmon today on a monkey fly. It was hooked in the garden pool. During the fight other fish started showing in a few moments of activity. We also had a Kelt and Jim Davidson lost couple also on the fly. Sorry no photo as my camera went for a swim after taking the snap.
This is Dave Wilmot making sure his prize returns to the river unharmed yesterday. Think the water temperature gave him a surprise though. Well done Dave on your first Tay Springer. The water is clearing after recent high water. With big spring tides this weekend fingers are crossed for some more cracking spring salmon making there way upstream.
Dave who travelled up to the Tay from the River Ribble in Lancashire landed a cracking sea liced springer today fly fishing from the boat in the bridge stream. Heavily sea liced, this fish was typical of the stamp of fish being commonly landed on the Tay just now. This is our biggest fish on the fly so far this year.
Water conditions were settled early on this morning but quickly coloured after heavy rain all day today. Just a kelt today before the water coloured up.
2 springers today on the harl from the cobble croy. 16lber for Craig Forest on a kynoch and an 8lber on a rapala for his dad. We hooked and lost another fish in the Maggot in the morning. Good fishing despite wintry conditions.
11lb sea licer landed in garden pool today. Also hooked another in potshot in afternoon which dropped off at the boat side. Both fish hooked harling plugs. The river has cleared after the recent high water and running at around 3 1/2 feet. A perfect height for hooking March springers.
This is Bruce playing a strong fish in the bridge stream hooked harling today. The river is looking a little more unsettled after a small rise this morning and more rain and snow forcast for the coming days. Hopefully it encourage more spring fish to come forward.
The river has settled clear and is currently around 2ft 8. Hopefully these conditions will remain and we get a go at any fresh fish which enter the beat during the coming week.
The water has finally settled clear in the main stem of the Tay. Although running around 4 ft still it is crystal clear. This allowed for plenty of action on the fly in the Maggot today. 6 kelts/baggots/rawnwers from this pool and plenty more harling through the rest of the beat. No springer today but with settled weather forcast for the week hopes are high. Below is a big baggot being played on the fly rod in the saugh bush.
Flood water on the Tay again. It has been a frustrating February with very few settled days fishing. Despite the river rising over 8ft today it is running clear. Tam Burt playing a kelt in front on the hotel.
