Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland 15 salmon on upper beat

Cargill beat- River Tay 15 salmon caught mostly spinning today. The fishing got better as the water dropped and cleared during the afternoon. Below is a 5lb grilse and a 4lb brownie both on flying c. Most of the fish caught today were fresh fish in the 5-10lb category. We also had 2 4lb browns and a 3lb sea trout. We ended the month with 155 salmon and grilse making it the best September for a while.

Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland 6 salmon including 4 over 18lb

Cargill beat- River Tay. It was an exciting day on upper Cargill with lots of big fish. With 1 at 23lb, 2 at 19lb and one at 18lb there was reel screaming action regularly throughout the day. The other 2 fish landed were sea liced grilse. All the big were returned safely to the river and 3 of them were sea liced. At least another 2 in the same size bracket were hooked in the morning. Below is Ian Jones with a 18lb crocodile hooked on a salmo in the pot shot. Will again post some more pics when i retrieve them from other cameras.

Cargill beat- River Tay 5 salmon landed today including 17lb sea licer.

Cargill beat- River Tay Ian Jones into a fish in the Black Stone on the bottom beat. 5 landed today and all were frsh run salmon. The river contiued to drop and clear with prospects looking good for the next few days.

Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland 3 Salmon fishing upper Cargill today

Cargill beat- River Tay 3 grilse landed today. The river is clearing after a rise in water last night. Settled water conditions will bring better catches by the weekend. Mike Howells into a sea liced grilse in the Beech Tree.

Cargill beat- River Tay Scotland. Great Autumn salmon fishing this week

Cargill beat- River Tay It has been a good week on Cargill with good catches. The river rose at the beginning of the week, but once the coloured settled again good catches were made. There has been some big fish caught this week with sea lice fish weighing 21lb, 18lb and 16lb all showing up at the end of the week. On saturday the bulk of the catche was fresh running fish. If conditions remain settled good catches will continue into next week. Will post more pics later in the week

Cargill beat- River Tay 11 on lower beat today

Cargill beat- River tay Graeme Hey and Clive Downhill into fish today. Biggest fish was 21lb and fell to Linda this morning and was returned. Large run of fresh fish came through this afternoon.
 

Graemes fish came to a floating devon and was 15lb. He landed another 2 this morning
 

 

Clives fish came to Salmo (returned).

Cargill beat- River Tay 2 Autumn fish from Beech tree

Cargill beat- River Tay. 2 Autumn fish, one for David one for Gregg Sutton. Both on the flying c and both returned. David finished the 3 days with 4 fish and Gregg landed 5.

Cargill beat- River Tay 2 today on lower Cargill

Cargill beat- River Tay A 15lb cock fish and a 14lb sea licer of lower Cargill today. Chris pictured below took the first one in Hakey on the fly and the second fish in the black stone in the afternoon. Both were returned. Richard (below) also lost a big fish first cast in the morning.

Cargill beat- River Tay 11 including 25lb sea licer

Cargill beat- River Tay 11 today upper beat. The morning saw 4 from the pot shot head (3 sea liced) and 1 from the bridge stream on fly. 5 in the afternoon including one at 25lb and one at 17lb. Below is Gregg playing 2 of the 4 he landed today. All 4 were returned.

Cargill beat- River Tay 15 from upper Cargill

Cargill beat- River Tay 15 caught today from the top beat including 2 over 20lb. Jimmy Davidson landed the largest at 23lb. Other fish weighed in at between 12 and 18lb with a few sea liced thrown in as well. Below is a sea liced fish I got from the Pot shot tonight on a Raider cascade. Will post more photos when i get them.

Cargill beat- River Tay Steve Shine

Cargill beat- River Tay. This is Steve Shine who managed to capture his first salmon. After tuition and assistance from Malcolm Anderson Steve hooked and landed his fish on the fly in the Pot Shot head on Saturday morning. Incidently it was his second cast. Well done Steve and we hope to see you all again.

Cargill beat- River Tay 24lb sea liced salmon

Cargill beat- River Tay 3 fish caught yesterday from upper beat. 1 in the morning from the Pot Shot on the fly and 2 in the afternoon. Pictured below is the 24lb fish hooked harling and landed by Steve late in the day again from the Pot Shot head. Also pictured is Paul Burns with a small cock fish from Clocksden.
